چکیده
Noise has many ill effects on living beings as well as non-living things. The adverse effects of noise may include noise induced hearing loss, sleep disruption, speech interference, reduction in human work efficiency and annoyance. In this paper an effort has been made to develop a fuzzy expert based model to study the annoyance among the road side dwellers, employees working in road side offices, organizations, etc. due to road traffic noise pollution in Agartala city due to rapidly growing vehicular traffic. A relationship has been developed between different traffic noise parameters and its harmful impact on daily life of individuals using multiple regression analysis. In addition, statistical analysis was also carried out between measured and predictive values and a good agreement was noticed between observed and predicted value of noise based level.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationships between road traffic noise exposure, annoyance caused by different noise sources and validated health indicators in a cohort of 1375 adults from the region of Basel, Switzerland. Road traffic noise exposure for each study participant was determined using modelling, and annoyance from various noise sources was inquired by means of a four-...

Residents of major cities of the United Arab Emirates are exposed to multiple noise sources originating from road traffic, aircraft flyovers and various industrial activities. Predicting the contribution of each of these sources to public annoyance, and hence relating it to health effects on residents of these cities, is not an easy task because of the complex nature of these sources and their ...

There is a lack of studies assessing the exposure-response relationship between transportation noise and annoyance in North America. Our aims were to investigate the prevalence of noise annoyance induced by road traffic, trains and airplanes in relation to distance to transportation noise sources, and to total environmental noise levels in Montreal, Canada; annoyance was assessed as noise-induc...

Background and aims: Based on various studies, the noise can have a significant effect on human health. Annoyance is the most common bad effect that may be caused by the noise and traffic. Awareness of costs of traffic noise has various advantages in decision making and on control measures to reduce the traffic noise. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the costs of traffic noi...

Exposure to road-traffic noise commonly engenders annoyance, the extent of which is determined by factors not fully understood. Our aim was to estimate the prevalence and determinants of road-traffic noise annoyance and noise sensitivity in the Finnish adult population, while comparing the perceptions of road-traffic noise to exhausts as environmental health problems. Using a questionnaire that...
